 The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board has been established under NWFP (Now KP) Ordinance No. 1 of 1971. Its mandate is to make arrangements for production and publication of textbooks from Classes I to XII, supplementary reading material relating to textbooks, production of reference and research material, and conduct of research in the field of curricula, textbooks and other reading material. After the adoption and introduction of the new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbooks and Learning Materials (KPTLM) Policy 2017, the role of Textbook Board has become more important as a regulatory authority. 

          The prime objective of the KP Textbook Board is timely availability of quality textbooks to all the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Class I to XII) at minimum Cost.

          The KP Textbook Board has initiated process for automation of its activities for smooth and active response. It is hoped that computerization of the Board's system will bring a lot of improvement in its functioning. This website is open for everyone for each and every kind of suggestion for the improvement of the textbooks.

Introduction to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbooks Board (KPTBB), Peshawar is a successor of West Pakistan Textbook Board which was established in 1962. Prior to West Pakistan Textbooks Board, there was no regular system of printing, publishing, and distributing text books. In 1962, the Government decided to introduce a regular system of production and distribution of text books. The West Pakistan Textbooks Board an autonomous body was established beside East Pakistan Textbooks Board. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board plays a vital role in boosting up of educational sector of the province. The main function of the Board is to prepare quality and error free textbooks well in time for the students of the whole province including far flung and remote corners of the Province. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board came into existence in 1971 through an Ordinance. Since then, as per given mandate, the Board used to print textbooks under KPPRA Rules 2014. The warehouse of KPTBB is hosting hosted 50 million books of different subjects from class KG to 12th grades and provides to 37 districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
